We are made of stories

Both our own and those passed down from our ancestors

Stories: the tapestry of life

a tapestry of stories

Everything in life is interconnected. Our lives are speaking to us all the time; all we need to do is listen.

Everything in life tells a story ... the rings of a tree, the birds migration, the colors of the rainbow, the photos we take, the clothes we wear. We are made of stories. Both our own stories, AND those passed down from our family and our ancestors.

Our stories, memories, photographs, provide ways for us to connect with ourselves, with our ancestors, and with each other.

A kaleidoscope of colors, backgrounds and dreams. The lives of our ancestors are woven into our lives, Together, we make up the rich tapestry that is our past, our present, and our future. that makes us who we are.

Our ancestors are always present, helping us find a way forward.

Their stories entertain, warn, and enlighten, becoming beacons of light for us on our own path.

Their struggles and triumphs fuel our own journey.

They act as pathfinders, offering us guidance as we navigate obstacles we may not have encountered before; by connecting with them, we capture glimpses into different times, traditions, and ways of life that enrich our understanding of today.

It is through my ancestors that I was able to gain clarity about who I was and why I was doing what I was doing.

Lives Intertwined

Life has a way of framing our experiences, just like in a photograph. Like a roll of film ... it's not until we develop it in the darkroom (of our mind) that we can appreciate the beauty of our experiences, with its moments of both darkness and light.

It's up to us to choose the focus, perspective, the aperture setting, the light, filters and composition.

I had been reminded that i am not alone. We are all connected. We are the result of generations of ancestors.

Mother Teresa

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

Blueprints and filters

It is not just physical properties that are passed on through the DNA. we also inherit family patterns.

A family with generations of pianists, writers, football players – these gifts were gifts from your ancestors. they not only gave us their DNA, they gave us many, many gifts, and also some of their unresolved life challenges and experiences. This work changed everything for me.

These ancestral experiences, and our stories and experiences, act as the blueprint, like filters, from which we view our lives and make decisions, allowing just parts of the picture, and only small amounts of light in.

And these filters, just like on a camera, can change, or even skew, what we are seeing.

How we relate, communicate, connect and experience life, how we view life and make decisions, are all filtered through a lens.

How we relate, communicate, connect and experience life, how we view life and make decisions, are all filtered through a lens.

When I was young, I talked to animals, angels, fairies, butterflies, horses, birds, dolphins.

As I grew up, I stopped talking to the animals. My inner narrative had begun to change, as had my outer world. (My life hadn’t stopped speaking to me, I had just stopped listening.)

I began to feel lost, disconnected, like I didn’t belong, like I was somehow “missing” something.

Through this work I got to know my ancestors and I learned to be present in my own life. It is through ReUnion that I was able to connect with my ancestors and feel their love for me. I learned about them and about me through them and began to understand, and own my choices, gain clarity about who I was, and why I was doing what I was doing.

I learned that everything is interconnected … how I take photos, and the lens and filters I use, how I interact with the world, it’s all connected.

Getting clarity on the hidden forces that impact why we do what we do, and releasing these patterns, including family patterns (that we often perceive as “truths,) allowed me to have more compassion for what we see as shortcomings within ourselves and others.

Mahatma Gandhi

Our greatest ability as humans is not to change the world; but to change ourselves.

By unraveling that which is no longer mine/ours, (or isn’t even ours to begin with),  we develop a deeper understanding of the whys of our stories, and of life's interconnectedness.

Everything in life begins to shift. And more importantly, we shift … and our relationship with ourselves and those around us.

What we hold in our cells vibrates out and creates our reality. It affects how we view, relate, communicate, connect and experience life.

My inner world was beginning to re-calibrate, and my outer world followed (as within, so without).

I began to see life as I had when I was a child, able to see life’s interconnectedness again.

energy of life

It was time to live the life I knew I could, the life I caught glimpses of.

The work I do with clients connects with your ancestors to heal the unresolved “stuff” that skews our perception of the world AND affects how we interact with the world.

Life is ever unfolding. I felt lucky that I had found something to help jumpstart my process and open my eyes to a different way of being.

As we continue to clear the old stuff out, our filter opens wider and wider and allows more light in, more clarity, and everything in our lives continues to shift.  And that’s when the real magic of life begins!
