Embrace Your New Year: Create Each Day

Start the year with purpose and clarity by defining your goals and aspirations. Discover how setting daily intentions can transform your life.

The Power of Daily Intentions

Setting intentions at the start of a new year allows time to reflect on the past and plan for the future. Intentions serve as a roadmap for personal development.  Embracing this practice can bring about meaningful change and a renewed sense of purpose.

It begins with a Word

It’s a New Year – and that means it is time to make a fresh start. If you’re like most people, you have thought of some things you would like to change.

For the past few years, I’ve chosen a word of the year. This year’s word chose me as much as I chose it. This year for me is about being brave, stepping up, speaking up. What’s your word

Set Yourself Up for Success … not failure

Setting New Year’s Resolutions is an age old tradition. Even the most motivated people on January 1 can become so un-motivated by the end of the month that they have all but given up on their resolutions.

Why does this happen? Sometimes, when it comes to resolutions, we are our own worst enemy. That’s right. There are things we do that cause us to fail!

That means that there are also things that we can do to help achieve success.

First, consider not calling it a resolution. How about an intention.

When you set your intention/resolution, make sure it is reasonable.

If your goal is to lose weight, keep your expectations reasonable. You may want to lose 25 pounds, but that can’t be done in a short time frame. It can easily take four to six months, or longer, to lose that much weight.

Know that there are going to be days when you feel like giving up. It is normal to feel that way.

Keep yourself motivated by hanging up a visual reminder of your intention/resolution where you will see it often. Each time you glance at it, you will be reminded of why you are working hard and it will give you the strength you need to keep moving forward. If you slip-up some days, which you will, see it as an opportunity to re-commit to yourself.

Keeping it positive is a much stronger foundation and habit builder! Re-committing to yourself and your intentions allows you the opportunity to remember your Why, and edit your intention if needed, and feel re-motivated as you continue forward.

Ideas to Get You Started with Your Intentions

Elements that might help make your intentions more successful and sustainable.

Define Your Core Values

Start by identifying what truly matters to you. Reflect on your core values to ensure your intentions align with your personal beliefs and aspirations.

Set Your Goal(s)

Clearly define your goals. This provides direction and focus, making it easier to track progress and stay motivated throughout the year.

Create an action plan

Organize your list into a plan. Decide what you will have to do first and what you will have to do second. Write out your plan on paper, the same way you would develop a blueprint to build your dream house.

Take Action

Action is the bridge between dreams and reality. Even small steps can lead to significant progress over time. Remember, perfection is not the goal; progress is. Do something every single day that moves you in the direction of your goal.

Review and Adjust

Embrace the process and be prepared to adapt as you go. Each action you take builds momentum, boosting your confidence and motivation. Stay focused on the benefits of achieving your goal and let that vision propel you forward.

Celebrate small victories along the way to keep your spirits high. Surround yourself with supportive individuals who encourage and inspire you.

Start Your Journey Today

Embrace the new year with purpose and clarity. Set your resolutions and intentions now to create a future you desire.
